Kruger National Park is a massive game reserve in northeastern South Africa, famous for the Big Five and self-drive safaris. The climate is subtropical, with hot, wet summers from October to March (around 86°F / 30°C) and mild, dry winters from April to September (around 77°F / 25°C). You can spot lions and elephants along the H4-1 road near Lower Sabie in winter, while summer brings lush vegetation and plenty of birdwatching opportunities around Satara.
