Mayo is a county on Ireland's rugged west coast, with a mild climate where summer highs reach 20°C (68°F) and winter lows hover around 5°C (41°F). It's famous for Croagh Patrick, a 764-meter mountain where pilgrims hike every July, and for the Great Western Greenway, a 42-kilometer biking and walking trail that cuts through bogs and past Clew Bay's 365 islands.
