Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo, is famous for the last surviving Wonder of the Ancient World: the Pyramids and the Sphinx. The climate is hot year-round, so winter (November to February) is best for exploring the pyramids by camel or visiting the Solar Boat Museum with temperatures around 68°F (20°C). Avoid summer when it hits 95°F (35°C) unless you're up for the nightly Sound and Light Show-storytelling against the illuminated monuments gives you an epic history lesson after dark.
